The Engineering geological research is being carried out in urban centres to provide basic information for land use development and planning.

The approach involves the use of a combination of soil sampling with in-situ testing and analysis of the engineering materials to understand the potential geological problems in the areas.

Projects carried out include engineering geological mapping of urban centres such as Enugu, Kaduna, Ibadan, Yola, Osogbo, Aba, Gombe, Benin, Owerri, Sokoto and Maiduguri metropolitan.
